Moisture Measurement In Bulk Material (Hydroprobe-II)

Our microwave sensors are made of high graded raw material by using sophisticated machines and latest technology. These can be fitted with standard sleeve and extension mounting kit.

The features and specifications are as follow:

Construction:
  • Body: cast stainless steel (ANC3B 18/8SS)
  • End cap: stainless steel (AISI 316)
  • Faceplate: alumina ceramic

Range of moisture
:
  • For bulk materials the sensor will measure up to the point of saturation typically 0-20% for construction materials

Penetration:

  • Approximately 75-100mm dependent on material

Power supply:
  • +15Vdc to +30Vdc. 3 watts max

Operating temperature:
  • 0-600C
  • The sensor will not measure moisture in frozen materials

Refresh rate:
  • Outputs are updated approximately 25 times per second

Analogue output:

  • Configurable 0-20mA or 4-20mA current loop source

  • The batch average start stop or moisture/temperature multiplexing functions can be controlled via the digital inputs, Refer to 'Connecting the Cable' section of the manual for more information.

Digital Communications:
  • Up to isolated RS485 2-wire port

Grounding:
  • The sensor body is connected to the cable shield ensuring potential bonding of all exposed metalwork

Note: In areas of high lightning risk correct and adequate protection should be used.

Moisture Measurement In Bulk Material - Microwave Sensor

We use unique hydronix digital microwave technique which achieves a greater accuracy of measurement over a wider range of moisture contents than is possible with any other sensor.

The Internal intelligence enables the sensor to be remotely configured, calibrated or interrogated for diagnostics purposes as well as for facilitating software upgrades.

Hydro- Mix VI is built for rugged use with a hardened steel protection wear ring and ceramic face plate which may easily be replaced in the event of accident damage. It makes them versatile and suitable for interfacing directly with all control systems.
